Spinnin’ Records, Sony, Bunny Tiger and Kittball – these are just to name a few of the labels Pete Sabo has released on. No doubt, he puts his focus on recognizable tracks full of character. His DJ career was rising within a short time as well, starting as a local DJ and making it to a resident of spanish Nikki Beach or Pacha Ischgl.

His CV is completed with numerous clubs and festivals such as Lio and Pacha Ibiza, Social Club Mallorca, Thai Break, Rave on Snow and Electric Love Festival. Whether on Ibiza or other parts of Europe – Pete Sabo moves the crowd like no other. But that’s not all: With his live project SABO|TAGE he fuses his skills as a DJ with a whole orchestra to a unique happening.

Hi, great to speak with you Pete, how are you doing today?

I am totally fine. The summer heat finally arrived in Europe and the festival season is already on fire. Can’t be better these days!

Back in the days, you released ‘LIKE THIS’ on Spinnin Records, an important milestone in your career. One of the edits reached more than 1 million plays and was supported by almost all the well-known artists. What has changed for you since then?

Yes, it’s definitely one of the most important releases for me next to my singles and remixes on Kittball, Sony Music, Bunny Tiger Records and Moonbootique. After it has been released and the amazing support of so many well-known artists, a lot of label requests came in next to radio show opportunities and other interesting projects.

You have frequently collaborated with your studio buddy Who Knows. What’s the story behind?

No doubt, It’s always good to have someone to work with in the studio. Who Knows is a very good friend and we have been working together for a long time now. Always feels like magic when we are together in the studio.

Your latest releases came out on Kittball and Bunny Tiger, what’s next?

I have some remix requests actually, a release coming out soon and some more demos around. I can’t wait to have all these beasts out there. Currently you can download my edit for Your Body as a free download.

What sound do you play in your sets at the moment, what inspires you in DJ Booth right now?

I am into melodic techno and melodic house next to house music and kind of deep house, depending on the venue and the event. The combination of all makes it really interesting I think. But in the end it’s all about the feeling and having a good time in deep connection with the crowd.

You also play on Ibiza from time to time and recently did a mix for Ibiza Global Radio. What fascinates you most about the island?

The island is something really special. Not only the clubs and party scene is amazing, also the countryside of the island, the beaches and the nature are outstanding. It’s always good to be there and to get batteries recharged.

What’s been some of your most memorable performances to date?

Especially the live event with the orchestra will remain in my memory forever. This is simply a unique experience to create something so wonderful together with live musicians. And also my gigs on Ibiza I have in special memory. I love the island and the clubs and above all the party people with which I was part of. Also extraordinary were my gigs in Asia in Thailand. The people, the food and the whole setting are unbelievable. I had fantastic nights there with the crowd.

You have a very special project: you play live with a whole orchestra. How can one imagine this live?

In short: electronic music and classical music meet. Most of them are my own tracks, which become something new and dynamic with the added parts of the orchestra. An arranger, the conductor, musical project management and I work together on the realization of this extensive project and I am always proud and happy when we play live.
