Australian DJ and producer on the rise, Tina Says, serves up a mind bending new single in ‘Dystopia’. Harking back to the early sounds of industrialist techno, Tina highlights her flair for the underground as a menacing bass line kicks into overdrive, leading listeners into the depths of the unknown. Spellbinding vocals enter the fray to declare ‘chaos is our world now’ as punters decay into the cathartic abyss. Ready to unleash complete havoc on the dance floor, killer synthesisers make the mark, Tina Says determined to get you moving. ‘Dystopia’ comes as Tina joins forces with sammythesinner for a newly launched weekly club night of the same name at The Aberdeen in Perth for what is sure to be absolute pandemonium.
Speaking to her creative process Tina Says shares, “Through my experimentation with sound design and layering sounds, I created a chaotic synth to lead people into my Dystopian world. The lead was the catalyst for my creative process, and the rest of the track flowed naturally from there. In order to balance out the chaotic sound design, I chose to use a bouncy bass line instead of a rolling one, which added a groove and helped to bring the track together.”
Tina Says has rapidly become one of the most widely respected producers and DJs in the Australian electronic scene. Since earning herself a position as triple Unearthed feature artist in 2020, Tina has gone on to drop a string of dynamic releases including recent release ‘Dimensions’ and 2022 heaters ‘Navigate’ and ‘Barriers feat. Jude York’, plus remixes for Solsta and Dave Winnel. Consistently levelling up and catching the attention of triple j presenters, Lucy Smith puts it simply, “where have you been all my life?”. Earmarked for success, she has played alongside heavyweights Duke Dumont, Michael Bibi, Sven Vath, Torren Foot, and Golden Features, not to mention performing at Festival X in 2022 and most recently at Now & Again Festival in Melbourne and Utopia Beach Festival in Bunbury. Instantly igniting crowds everywhere she goes, Tina is not content to rest, with her very own Body Control series of events continuing a string of sold out shows and her new collaborative club night with sammythesinner, Dystopia.
