20th October sees UK-based newcomer DJ/producer Tennan release his debut EP on Mar-T’s established tech house imprint, Wow! Recordings, entitled ‘Keep My Beat’.
The essential 4-track offering follows on from Tennan’s recent key releases on labels such as 20/20 Vision, Repopulate Mars, Sanity and VIVa LTD which helped him garnered support from the likes of Marco Carola, Steve Lawler, Lee Foss, Nicole Moudaber, Matthias Tanzmann, Richy Ahmed, Cuartero and Detlef to name a few.
Comprising of 3 original tracks ‘Keep My Beat’, ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Techycasa’ plus a stellar rework of ‘All Night Long’ by Amnesia’s legendary resident DJ, CAAL, the EP has been carefully crafted to deliver a vibrant dancefloor workout, featuring an abundance of well executed addictive house grooves, killer vocal samples and looped-up funk elements.
‘Keep My Beat’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on 20th October and everywhere else two weeks later.

Interview with Tennan:
Hello Tennan, welcome to MI4L. Where are you in the world right now?
Hello guys and thank you for having me. I am currently travelling back home to Leeds from Germany. What a great weekend!
So, you’re a hotly tipped rising DJ/producer within the tech house scene and already boast a series of standout releases on key imprints such as VIVa Music, Moon Harbour and Repopulate Mars. But, let’s start at the beginning; what inspired you to become a DJ/producer in the first place?
It all started back in the day when my brother and I got our hands on a Commodore Amiga 500 and a sampling software called OctaMED. I was totally hooked. I used to buy the Future Music magazine every single month keeping up to date with every new equipment, artist and release out there and with lots of dedication and love for the music I managed to expand my studio and eventually improved my productions.
You’ll soon be releasing your stellar new 4-track ‘Keep My Beat’ EP via Mar-T’s established WOW! Recordings. Please tell us a bit about the making of the release and what your ‘go-to’ studio production tools are?
I’ve made 3 tracks specifically for WOW! and aimed for that ‘Amnesia’ sound. WOW! has been one of my favourite labels of all time and becoming a part of the family it’s definitely a dream come true. I am currently using Ableton Live 10, UAD Plug-ins and a Virus TI2 for making most of my tracks.
How long has it taken you to perfect your sound and how long does it usually take you to complete a record or remix?
I used to produce all sorts of different styles of music before I moved to house & techno so it basically took me years to learn how to properly mix and master my tracks. It usually takes me a couple of hours to come up with a good idea and as soon as I am happy with it, I then carry on finishing the track.
Please tell us about your best gig to date and where (club/festival/city) you would most like to perform next?
I’ve had so many good gigs that I can’t really pick a ‘best’ one. Last week’s gig at Frau Manfred in Monchengladbach alongside Emanuel Satie was awesome. Amazing club and vibes!
What other DJs/producers do you truly admire and why?
My favourite producers at the moment are newcomer Rui-Z. His new one ‘Satisfaction’ on Elrow Music is a banger. Mason Maynard is a top lad and a fantastic producer too, his latest collab with Green Velvet is phenomenal. Salvatore Bruno is another guy who’s been making waves at the moment. Just got a promo of his new EP on Under No Illusion and it’s sounding hot!
Please list your top 5 hottest tracks of the moment.
Rui-Z – Satisfaction
Mason Maynard & Green Velvet – Got This
Jamie Jones & David Berrie – Future Society
Ben sterling – Members Only
Leon & Oscar L – Faking Fingers
