Dear Deer Black prove they have their finger on the pulse by signing up Road to Mana for a new EP that showcases his skills across three fresh cuts. He is a rising Spanish artist based in Malaysia but has a few releases coming up this summer on some notorious labels so is right on the cusp of blowing up into a next generation star.

To Mana is the fine first track and is a deep and hypnotic house number with broody synths. The drums are rooted to the floor but the synths are more cosmic, taking your mind into outer space.

High Ground is then a spine tingling track that is more up thanks to the spiralling, circling pads that add scale and a magic sense of melody that is deft and detailed.

Last of all the excellent Dawn of Lumpur then grinds out a groove with grittier drums and keys that churn in inviting ways. More delicate synth work adds colour and texture to an original house track laden with suspense.

On this evidence, there is good reason why Road To Mana is so hotly tipped.
