Pontchartrain’s second release on home label Lovedancing dives deep into his Detroit roots with two big house tunes plus a ripping’ remix from fellow Detroiter, Javonntte. The Motor City Memories EP is a nod to young Poncho’s Michigan pride and the perfect center piece to his ever expanding discography.

Here we have B-Side cut, “Head Up,” which pays tribute to the late queen of soul. Jangly piano riffs, crunchy percussion and driving beats provide a framework for shimmering arpeggios, sub-bass and vocal loops to build upon. Ultimately creating a classic house vibe that feels right at any time, but an ending that’ll keep you saving it for just the right moment.
