UK house maestro Matt Tolfrey makes a welcome return to Desert Hearts — this time with longtime collaborator Lee Curtiss in tow. The two have fashioned a heady two-tracker dubbed For Your Mind. It opens with its title track, a deep, yet bouncy groover with pungent percussion, spacey vocal samples, and futuristic synths that come together in a wild after-hours cut. “Who Said That” is equally high-charged, focusing on fast-paced bass progressions and intricate drum patterns for a more tribal feel. Both tracks speak to the collaborators’ collective aesthetic, and have been dubbed perfect fits for the Desert Hearts brand by its leaders.
