Fresh off the back of his recent Piano Track release with Crosstown Rebels which has been hitting the spot across the board with fans and DJs alike, Pirupa shows no sign of slowing down as he prepares to drop another lesson in how to do tech house properly, this time in collaboration with Italian maestro Ninho on VIVa LiMITED with their stomping four-tracker: Wanna House EP.

Launching straight into it with Sensation, Pirupa & Ninho waste no time in showing you what this EP is all about. Blending warehouse style keys with glitchy computerised synths and effects, the chopped up vocal samples keep you guessing as the track rumbles on taking no prisoners as it goes. The title track, Wanna House is a slightly more subtle affair that layers precise percussion and an organ-inspired synth delivering the catchiest of hooks on the breakdown. Delivering plenty of energy throughout, the first half of the release only sets us up for what’s in store with the next two tracks.

Bass Bomb does exactly as it says on the tin and ticks every box with a hip-hop vibe running throughout, funky drums and plenty of vocals which peak at a 90s-inspired breakdown halfway through. Closing the EP, Full Body Shakes is a cut that strips things right back to a simple bassline and drums with layered effects and synths – the perfect soundtrack for late night weirdness, and another example of Pirupa’s eclectic and expert approach to production within house and techno.

Few artists can put out a four track EP which keeps things interesting from start to finish, but Pirupa’s collaboration with Ninho doesn’t let up and certainly leaves you wanting more. With Loco Dice, Latmun, Richy Ahmed and Danny Howard all confirming their early support, expect this one to hit the spot.
