[New Release] The latest from the very talented Kate Simko is another Leftroom jewel.
Kabuki Drop, with a remix from John Tejada, is a sexy and uplifting release that seems perfect for those humid summer nights. The vocals on the “Go On Then” record make you want to get nice and close with a summer fling, as if you’re years in love. The title track, “Kabuki Drop” is of the more upbeat variety, yet Simko maintains her experimentally undertone sound — rounded, bubbling synth sounds smoldering up from under the heavy bass and percussion. John Tejada maintains the feeling of the original with a bigger-room reverberation that expands the track’s reach and flexibility.
Keeping it real, as always, Simko hits the musical bullseye again.
