Almost a year since its inception, electronic music discovery and education platform, Mixtank, has launched its own in-house imprint, cementing the brand’s ethos of showcasing the best talent that the underground scene has to offer.

The inaugural release is supplied by UK producer, Kinnerman, in the form of ‘Higher’ – a melodic, breakbeat-infused two-track EP that was recorded during lockdown and showcases a very different side to the producer’s musical palette.

The title track is an uplifting journey through laidback breakbeats with the dreamy vocals of Beth Mawdsley woven into a fabric of ethereal synths and a growling bassline. On the B-side, ‘For You’ is a vocal-driven ride through deep house with a heavyweight bassline, that is intricately layered with peak time synths, effects and an ‘eyes-closed’ vibe that’ll have the crowd eating out of your palm.

Complementing the audio release, a full two-part production masterclass is also available via Mixtank that not only gives aspiring producers an in-depth look at how Kinnerman wrote ‘Higher’, but also an in-depth insight into every aspect of his production process as he creates a track from scratch during an exclusive studio session.

As the Mixtank platform grows from strength to strength with exclusive masterclasses from scene-heavyweights like Luuk van Dijk, Seb Zito, Josh Butler, Dennis Quin, Huxley, Madvilla and more, the label will allow Mixtank to further support grassroots talent through official remix opportunities, production competitions and more.
