Rising artist MEYY has unveiled her new single ‘Orchids’, out today.

A sensual ethereal R&B ballad, ‘Orchids’ combines downbeat, futuristic sound design with MEYY’s seductive vocals. Expertly capturing the experimental energy of the track, the accompanying visualizer sees the Brussels-born artist in a field of orchids, surrounded by butterflies in her own 3D world. It marks her second single release of 2021, following on from ‘Famous’, a hypnotic track that saw MEYY shift her sound in an experimental direction.

“‘Orchids’ is a song I made while completely immersing myself in the feelings of desire and lust,” MEYY explains. “The melodies, lyrics, soundscapes and the build-up, they all embody the way I feel or perceive lust. When you listen to the song, I hope you envision a scene with someone you desire, like a film playing in your head.”

MEYY lives and studies between London, Brussels and Delft, immersing herself in different cultures, exploring robotics engineering and finding her place in the world with her Belgian/South Korean heritage.

A singer, songwriter, producer and dancer, MEYY burst onto the scene with debut single ‘Angelic Lies’ in 2019, an acclaimed track that When The Horn Blows described as “sultry neo-soul and R&B infused, brooding pop”. This was followed up by the similarly well-received ‘Spectrum’, an EP that amassed more than 500,000 streams and saw her win the Red Bull Elektropedia award  for ‘Most Promising Artist Of 2021’.

‘Orchids’ is the work of a truly unique creative talent who is destined for big things.
