Manchester-based DJ & production trio Mason Collective keep the hits coming with their latest EP Soul Rebel, out on 17th March via their own label Whippin’.

Hot on the heels of January’s  MASON Edits: Vol 2 edit pack release, Soul Rebel sees the trio in their element, crafting hooky and inventive house music.

Opener ‘Guidance Through my Perc’ decorates a tight garage rhythm with boundless creative flair, as a perky bassline and vocal hook are interspersed with a mosaic of melodic effects. Rounding out the release in style, title track ‘Soul Rebel’ is a more laid-back, pensive groove, sprinkled with dashes of saxophone to sweeten the mix.

Straddling both music and fashion, Mason Collective – headed by Blair Suarez, Adam Myles and Omar Guedar – are enjoying a busy start to 2023, fresh off playing the BPM Festival in Costa Rica, as well as shows in Cartagena Colombia, Napoli, Rome, Milan, Printworks London and Barcelona to name a few. Next up, the collective will be hosting an all day event on Sunday 9th April at the historic Victoria Swimming Baths in Manchester.

Infusing their house productions with hip-hop and UK garage influences, if you’re not familiar the trio have had a strong few years, with releases on Hot Trax, Solid Grooves, Knee Deep In Sound, Saved Records, Loco Dice’s Desolat as well as their own label Whippin’, with their biggest release yet coming on Defected next. They’re gearing up for their biggest release to date this March as they make their debut on Defected with ‘People In Love’, a feelgood record featuring Bipolar Sunshine that pays homage to the 2010’s era of tech house and became a regular fixture in their sets last summer.

Soul Rebel is yet another example of the dynamic trio’s talent for crafting irrepressible house jams, and more proof that Mason Collective have well and truly found their groove.
