MORE LOVECASTS

Interview with Raumakustik:

How did you first get introduced to dance music? What is the most challenging part of becoming a full-time producer and touring artist?
Seb: I was 12, and the friends of my sister listened to the 90s dancefloor stuff like ”culture beat” and ”snap” in their cars with huge woofer speakers. I was excited about this bass sounds. My first contact with beats.

As full-time producer, it is a continuous challenge to deliver new good tracks with an own signature sound.

Volker: Well – since I was a young boy I loved music. I learned a little bit of guitar and violin. Then I discovered electronic music – in the end of the 80s, and beginning of 90s. There was the first electronic sounds in dance and pop music on the radio. And I loved every track I heard with this sound, synths or samples. In this time one of my great wishes was: I´d like to produce and arrange my own music. Together with Seb we start as Live-Act, our working as DJs began later – but intensive.

What has been the most exciting turning point of your career so far?
2014, we did a genre swap from Electro House to Tech House, our first production “Raider“ was signed by Jamie Jones’ label Hot Trax! We landed our first Beatport #1. What a great feeling for us. A Game Changer in our career.

Where is your home base? If someone were visiting there for the first time, what clubs and/or parties and/or restaurants would they want to check out?
We live in Radeberg, a little town near Dresden in Germany. You know maybe the famous Beer Radeberger Pilsner?

Dresden is a fantastic city with really nice hotspots and many historic buildings and great restaurants. One of the most beautiful cities in Germany, I think.

We have an excellent club culture here. Mostly Techno Clubs.

What advice would you give to an aspiring producer?
Do what you love, not what others want! Be creative and have a lot of patience and always try to beat you!

What’s on the horizon for you in 2019?
There is a lot of new stuff in the pipeline. A Collab with Andrew Meller on Kittball Records, a new ep with Pete Kaltenburg on Elrow Music – and last but not least a release on Danny Howard´s Label Nothing Else Matters and many more …

And this year is our premiere in Ibiza. We will play in August with the Toolroom guys at Club Eden.

Volker: I love to touring with my bike – there are many little villages and mountains near Radeberg. And I love to read books – especially crimes.

What are some touristy things you do while playing in a foreign city?
Of course, visit the city, and spend time with friends. We love to get to know new cities or places …
