Since first breaking onto the scene in 2012, on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, Eagles & Butterflies has quickly risen to the top as a super talent producer putting out major hits on labels such as Innervisions, Get Physical, Noir Music, Defected, and more, while running his own label, Spread Your Wings.  With a recent album coming out on Get Physical, this rising star has really been put in the spotlight and is ready to shine.  This weekend he makes his Los Angeles debut at one of LA’s hottest events, La Vibe at Le Jardin in Hollywood.  This new venue has been hosting some of the world’s best acts and parties such as Get Lost and Paradise.  Week in and week out they bring in quality talent and we are excited to see Eagles & Butterflies make his debut at this premier venue!  We were so elated, that we sat down with the man and here is what he had to say?

How did you get mixed up in this crazy world of electronic music?

I was A&R for one of the Radio 1 DJs in London many years ago, worked as an agent, rans events etc but was always making music in the background. i always had a love electronic music, its was mainly the French sound with the likes of Daft Punk and the whole Ed Banger and Roule scene.

Who were some of your biggest influences growing up?

Growing up as i kid i always wanted to be Axl Rose! But in electronic is always Daft Punk.

You now live in Los Angeles, how has living in this city effected your music?

Tbh it has really affected the sound of what i make, Its just a great place to live! You cant beat waking up to sunshine, I lived in Ibiza before and that was amazing, just a little cold in the winter!

We love your new album, when making it, what were some of your biggest inspirations?

Thanks! There wasn’t so much an inspiration for the album, i kind of just locked myself away in the studio for a month and made as much music as possible. I then went to Europe on tour and was in Ibiza for a month, road tested and listened over and over to the music, went back and forth with the label (Get Physical) and decided on the final tracks. Im super happy with the end result and couldn’t be happier about working with Get Physical, they have been one of my favourite and best underground labels for along time.

When not listening to electronic music, what do you vibe on?

I listen to all sorts, really depends on my mood, massive fan of all things 80s!

Who are some of you favorite Producers/Labels?

So many great labels and producers out there, love what the Keinmusik guys are doing, DJ Tennis, but my favourite producer is David August.
