Ibiza’s OpenLab presents OffBeat has been turning heads since opening in June, offering something totally different on the White Isle in the early part of the summer having hosted the likes of Doudou MD, Paula Tape, Sofia Kourtesis and Voightman. Now the July and August line-ups see OffBeat deliver some of the most interesting names in the electronic spectrum, with the likes of Daniel Avery, Call Super, DJ Masda, DJ Python, Optimo (Espacio) and Powder.
With OffBeat, OpenLab is on a mission to bring back the avant-garde eclecticism for which Ibiza first became famous. It’s a night that offers an incredibly forward thinking line up in a truly alternative arts space. A home for artists and clubbers alike to enjoy extended sets, experience new visual art, and be part of an event where music curation, artistic freedom and an inclusive policy sit centre stage.
The venue for OffBeat each Friday party is NUI, a new, intimate and authentic industrial arts space in the Arts District just on the edge of Ibiza Town. More Berlin than Balearic in its outlook, NUI has an impressive prototype Function One sound system, late licence and extra production that allows for immersive AV experiences.
Next up is techno innovator Daniel Avery on July 14th with his famously dark and moody soundscapes, with former Panorama Bar resident and famously tasteful selector Prosumer bringinging his deep bag of classic house and emotive disco on July 21st. Legendary Scottish pair Optimo (Espacio) aka J.D. Twitch and J.G. Wilkes, known for leftfield selections that can draw on anything from techno to new wave, Afro to disco, headline with another legend, David Holmes on July 28th.
August 4th is when Japan’s DJ Masda and Powder face off for an Ibiza debut in what will be a thrilling mix of entrancing grooves from across the spectrum. The remainder of August sees more extremely high calibre artists at OffBeat, with Call Super gracing NUI’s system on August 11th, Roman Flugel on 18th and uber hot DJ Python on 25th.
Founded by the late great Robert Miles and since reinvigorated by pioneering rave promoter Quentin ‘TinTin’ Chambers, OpenLab is a global 24/7 culture platform based in Ibiza. Broadcasting worldwide via https://openlab.fm and on 104.4FM in Ibiza, OpenLab showcases a carefully curated selection of innovative, alternative electronic music and digital art. OffBeat looks to extend the platform’s programming as we add live shows to the mix, delivering exciting DJ and AV performances.
