Spoolius is a Dj/production duo residing in the desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico, with years of experience sharing the decks with artists like Super Flu, Acid Pauli, Worthy, and Catz N Dogz.
They have taken inspiration from the beauty of their hometown and brought a certain type of groove onto local dance floors. Spoolius founded “Dance Monster”, a local event residing at the ever-growing Meow Wolf venue and interactive art space. They have also released their own music on local record label, Mesa Recordings.
These two gents bring an uplifting style and playfulness to their sets and their events; if you’re ever traveling through Santa Fe make sure to find them. We’re excited to have Spoolius join us on our Hometown Heroes series.

Interview with Spoolius
How did you get into dance music? Was there a specific moment of inspiration you can remember?
In the last years of high school, we got into the habit of attempting to turn every party we went to into a dance party. We had a playlist with all the banger reggaeton tracks of the middle 2000s, and a few spicy hip hop jams, but didn’t know anything about dance music. It wasn’t until we somehow found ourselves snuck into a weekly minimal techno party called Team Tuesdays at a country bar that dance music was even on our radar. We were hooked immediately. Pretty much have to credit the Mesa Recordings team with our early exposure.
Describe your dream gig…
A pool party in an arroyo with 300 of our closest friends (new and old), at sunrise, with a fire, a rainstorm on the horizon and champagne on ice.
What are your plans for the rest of 2018 and beyond?
Finishing some of our own material, putting together a tour, all whilst maintaining a proper diet of burritos and sunsets.
Top 5 Tracks in your playlist?

Doppt – Super Flu

Tell us about your mix…
Long desert drives, heartbreak, mountain tops, losing it on the dancefloor, the passage of time, friends and lovers, finding it on the dancefloor, mesa parties, New Mexico.
Cheers!
