Interview with Abeer

How did you get into Dance music and Djing? What was your inspiration?
I have always been into music for as long as I can remember. I always used to keep my music collection updated, it all started from rock music, to pop music, to even instrumentals at times. When it comes to dance music I started with trance and within years my taste changed to house and electro. Finally I fell in love with techno, tech house and deep house . It’s been 3 years that I’ve started Djing and I would say, my taste in music hasn’t changed much ever since. My biggest inspirations would be John Digweed , Hernan Cattaneo and Sasha . Their consistency and their down to earth attitude is what inspires me.

Tell me about the music scene in Pakistan…
Pakistan and the music scene here is evolving slowly. Even though it is an Islamic state, there are plenty of people who have appreciation for this kind of music. We hardly have any commercial events or club parties due to security reasons, so we tend to have mostly private underground parties.

What cool things do you have planned for the remainder of 2017 and beyond?
Planning to make as many mixes as I can because its hard to find time because of my day job, as you cant make a living being a Dj in Pakistan .
