Over the last year, or so, one name has become synonymous with an out-of-the-box, unconventional style of tech house and booty bass music, that name is none other than Marc Spence. After seeing an incredible amount of success and support on his breakthrough track “Nasty”, which was released on the This Ain’t Bristol imprint, Marc hasn’t stopped surprising us with killer original tracks and remixes on labels such as Simma Black, House of Hustle, Anabatic, Sleazy G and many more. We are very confident that this is a name you will surely bee seeing much more of in 2017, and we can’t wait to hear what he’s got show!

Q&A with Marc Spence

Who inspires you?

I don’t have a certain ‘who’ to be honest, I’m inspired by all art forms, not just music either, I get inspired from watching Ricky Gervais in comedy or Heath Ledger as the Joker in ‘Dark Knight’ seeing anyone great at art makes me strive to be the best I can be at mine.

What is the hottest track in your arsenal?

Groove Armada – Love Sweet Sound (Kolsch Rmx)

Where do you dream about Djing?

Now you ask, I don’t really know.

Why did you get into house music?

I used to play Drum & Bass until I walked into my local record shop 10 years ago and heard the track ‘Din Da Da’ by Solid Groove & Sinden, before that I didn’t understand just how diverse House music could be, thats what I loved and still love about House Music.

What do you think is the #1 hip-hop album, or any album outside of dance music?

Sorry got to pick 2 – Fugees – The Score / Wu Tang Clan – 36 Chambers

If you could get in the studio with any producer, dead or alive, who would it be?

Dave Taylor

How do you make all them hot tracks?

Ha, I don’t think I do! I’m never totally happy with my production but if I had to say anything I’d say I just do me, thanks though!

CHEERS!
