FedRed & Danny, great to have the chance to speak with you both today. Congratulations on the release of your latest EP Symbiosis Vol.1. Can you tell us a bit about how the idea came about for this concept?
Hey! First of all great to speak with you about our release here today and thank you for the opportunity! The concept came out from our friendship which it has been consolidated on a trip to the magic Island Ibiza talking about music and our passion for djing and producing. After that we had many b2b sets together, mixing our different taste for music however creating one very personal and unique sound. This is the reason why we named it Symbiosis: the EP is composed from two different music backgrounds but that can work perfectly together like a symbiosis.
What made Lorenzo Dada’s Electronic Music Division Records the best home for the EP?
Lorenzo is the promoter of a very special movement in Rome: owner of the Electronic Music Division School, he gives the opportunity to emerging djs and producers to express their music ideas. We thank him a lot for the chance is giving us and we are extremely happy to be part of this movement. Therefore, as we believe in his project, we think that there would not be a better home for Symbiosis. Also, we’d like to thank Claudio Maura, our mentor during the creation of the EP.
Can you tell us about your journeys as producers? How did you get started and what motivated you to pursue a career in music?
FedRed, I was born in Rome in September ’92, fell in love with electronic music on my first trip to London in 2009, when I entered a vinyl store for the very first time. At the moment, I am promoter of his organization, SUNDAYB, which offers parties as different as the sounds he is looking for: house, tech-house and techno, mixed together with synths, congas, very full basses with space melodies.
Danny, I was born in Rome on October, 1991. Passionate about electronic music in all its disciplines, I developed a parallel strong attraction for Tech-House. I love to experiment during my dj-sets, ranging from Tech-House to Bass House up to Minimal Deep, absorbing the influences of old vinyls of funky and house music heard as a child. I started to take my first step in the world of production with Simone Burrini, which mentored me at the very begin.
How would you say your sound differs from one another?
We really think that our sound is influenced from our club culture, we like to say that we are still ravers and we mixed all the sounds we heard from our experiences together. This is why we think our music knowledge defined and differs us from the others.
You have both DJ-d b2b before, what is the best part of playing with each other?
We really enjoy playing together because we mixed our different tastes creating music travels. We always have a better feeling with the crowd when we play B2B.
What more can we expect to hear from you over the course of the year? Will there be a Vol2?
Thank you for asking this question. We are both working on different projects right now and soon we will think about the Vol.2.
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs and producers who are looking to make their mark in the industry?
We suggest them to do what they like and listen as much as music they can to create their knowledge. Experiences on the spot can also make a real difference.
What legacy would you want to leave as artists?
Our goal is to inspire who is listening to us through our music and to believe in their dreams like we are doing today!
