A multi-genre platform extensively serving as an authoritative voice for dance music heavyweights such as Skrillex, Feed Me, Chris Lake, REZZ, Getter, i_o, ATTLAS, and more, deadmau5’s prolific mau5trap label boasts home to some of electronic music’s most technically proficient producers. Priding themselves on artist discovery through compilation series like We Are Friends, remixes, live artist showcases and beyond, mau5trap constantly strives to break artists into the scene and build alongside them as they grow into their artistic best. Now looking to continue his never-ending endeavor of championing trailblazing and genre-defying talent, deadmau5 debuts a brand new label venture. Announcing hau5trap: a multifaceted home for global electronic pioneers within the house music space. Focusing on textural, groove driven, melodic sounds, hau5trap is the new premier collective for the who’s who of who’s next in all things house. Welcoming back familiar members of the mau5trap horde while simultaneously introducing fresh faces alike, hau5trap is positioned to make itself one of dance music’s most unique labels to date.
Leading the hau5trap charge is none other than frequent mau5trap collaborator Tommy Trash. The prolific Australian creative reunites with singer/songwriter Daisy Guttridge to deliver hau5trap 0001: “Hiiigh.” Available for streaming and purchase on Thursday, March 4, “Hiiigh” is the long-awaited reunion of Tommy Trash and Daisy Guttridge after their hit 2019 collaboration “Let Me Go” with mau5trap mainstay i_o, and 2017 collaboration “Oxygen.” Tommy Trash and deadmau5 go hand in hand: Tommy’s remix of “The Veldt” was nominated for Best Remix at the 55th Grammy Awards (2012), and is still played in deadmau5 shows to this day. The pair recently reunited yet again for Tommy’s remix of deadmau5 and Kiesza’s “Bridged By A Lightwave”. “Hiiigh” features a bustling amalgamation of sonic synths and classic four-on-the-floor basslines. Brimming with nuanced house flair, Tommy Trash and Daisy Guttridge create a sultry symphony, perfectly kicking off all things hau5trap.
“With hau5trap, we get to support more things we love specifically in house music. Tommy Trash remixed my ‘Bridged By A Lightwave’ and ‘The Veldt’ tracks, so I’m happy to have him be the first artist to release on hau5trap.” – deadmau5
