Fast-rising Chinese multi-hyphenate Chace has unveiled his debut album Belated Suffocation, out November 5th.
An eleven-track release, Belated Suffocation is an illustration of Chace’s matured sonic palette and an important milestone in the story of this singular talent. Then comes recent single ‘Mariya’, a show-stopping track that gives the listener a glimpse into his dark, dance-pop visions, the lush atmospherics of ‘The Rain Song’ and ‘Trust Issue’, and the hazy emotion of ‘Interlude’.
The second half of the LP showcases Chace’s richly diverse musical stylings. ‘Gone’ and ‘3’ are masterful exercises in combining electronic and organic instrumentation, while closing title track ‘Belated Suffocation’ sees Chace at his most downbeat and contemplative.
A producer, vocalist and songwriter, Chace’s sleek electronic sound has already been supported by the likes of Yellow Claw, DJ Snake, Vogue and GQ. Just 23 years of age, he represents the next generation of Asian artists melding western influences with their own sound. Looking ahead, Chace will perform across the US, Australia and Asia in the coming weeks (full tour listings below).
A show-stopping debut album, Belated Suffocation sees Chace step into a captivating new artistic era.
