Istanbul-born artist Carlita has unveiled her new EP ‘The Way You Say’, out 8th July on Higher Ground.

A club-ready two-tracker, ‘The Way You Say’ opens with the title track, a Balearic-inspired house cut pairing slick grooves with infectious vocal samples. On the flipside, ‘Fly By’ is a rich tapestry of rousing piano chords, vibrant percussion, sleek synth stabs and fleeting vocal fragments – a combination that leaves a lasting impression.

As 2022 progresses rapidly in-front of our eyes, I want to give meaning to time, places, love and the way you say it all.Carlita explains. “Embedded in musical melodies, I hope to transpire what it all means to me through the weaves of  time. It’s an honour to be part of the Higher Ground Family with my first EP ‘The Way You Say’”

‘The Way You Say’ marks the Turkish DJ and producer’s debut on Higher Ground, a subsidiary of Diplo’s iconic Mad Decent label. The imprint has enjoyed a prolific 2022, overseeing releases from the likes of Diplo, Ewan McVicar, Jaded, Navos, VNSSA, Azzecca and more, with Carlita’s ‘The Way You Say’ marking Higher Ground’s 100th release since launching in 2019. Carlita also remixed ‘The Difference’ by MoBlack, Armonica and Dear Humans back in May.

A classically-trained musician and multi-instrumentalist, Carlita experiments with a mix of live and electronic instruments across her genre-hopping productions, which have featured on Life and Death and Cosmic Awakenings amongst others. On the DJ front, her sets are characterised as emotional expeditions which aim to take the crowd on a journey. She was recently handpicked to perform at iconic London club fabric as part of a ‘DJ Tennis Curates’ event, played a live-streamed set for Berlin tastemaker platform HÖR, while a stacked summer of touring includes forthcoming shows at Space Miami, DC-10 for Circoloco Ibiza and Poland’s Audioriver festival.

Carlita continues her rapid rise through the ranks with a landmark release on a revered record label.
