The festival industry has come on so far so quickly in recent years. A muddy field and one stage is no longer enough. We punters want more.
And now we have it from a range of events in spectacular locations with killer soundtracks and nice, in the know crowds.
To that end we have looked at some of the best destination festivals in the world and rounded them up here.
Echoes from Agartha is a five-day odyssey to the Cradle of Civilization in Cappadocia in the heart of Anatolia, Turkey. The big news here is that Dixon and me play a special and one off back to back to headline the event. Their Innervisions label hosts it at the super lush and escapist Tofte Manor in the heart of the UK countryside. It is very easy to access from London and also playing will be Avalon Emerson, Elkka, Haai, Gerd Janson, Jenny Cafra, Mano Le Tough and more.
Chez Damier, La Mamie’s, Maurice Fulton, Guy Gerber, Breakbot & Irfane make this one an irresistible affair musically. It happens on Portugal’s stunning Costa de Caparica and this year it will have main stage music as well as an extra beach party with two in all on Saturday.
The place where this magical gathering happens is on the island of Anglesey in North Wales. The music matches the vibe of the moment with soulful tunes in the sun and more electric house, bass, electro and more at night. You can party in the woods, a walled garden, a barn and many other spots with a load of sound folks from party gangs like Percolate, Hit & Run, Half Baked and Adonis and DJs such as Helena Hauff, Job Jobse, Tim Reaper and Peach.
At Hide&Seek, the focus is on stylish stage designs and a classy, proper forward thinking soundtrack that appeals to the heads. Zip, Todd Terje, Apollonia, Sonja Moonear, Priku, Fumiya Tanaka, Raresh and many more line up this year. After two great editions in 2019 and 2021, this third year will surely head to new heights once again.
This most enchanting and intimate escape brings its biggest and best ever line-up to the stunning new location of The Belvoir Estate in Grantham. You can camp at it for the first time and there is a 24 on site market as well music from AJ Tracey, Chase & Status (DJ Set), Craig David pres ~TS5, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Apollonia, Franky Wah, Syreeta and Andy Bell plus many more.
After a hugely impressive debut in 2021, now comes round two of Access which promises to build on that success. Gerd Janson, Octo Octa b2b Saoirse, Sweely, Mathame, Jeremy Underground, DJ Boring play this beautiful British gathering at Sherbourne Park in Warwick. You can expect super summer open air vibes with hopefully lots of sun.
