UK DJ and producer Bontan returns to his We Belong imprint with new single ‘Big Khalifa’, out 5th November.

Possibly his biggest ever single release to date, ‘Big Khalifa’ is a gargantuan track which has been a mainstay in his sets for several months during recent tours all over the US and up and down the UK. The support behind the release has had top tier names MK, Jamie Jones, Mele, Elliot Adamson and more playing out in sets. This percussive house track builds in a crescendo right from the off, using the slowly increasing held synth note melted together with a short cut vocal which combine together to build the tension at the start that something big is incoming, before it drops and mayhem ensues.

“With ‘Big Khalifa’, I wanted to make a record that DJs across all genres would want to play in their sets and at any point,” Bontan explains. “It’s been so refreshing to see that happen with names right across the board playing it in festivals and also in dark basements. As I was writing the track, everything seemed to just fall into place and I had finished it in one day which is extremely rare, but those are the ones that end up being special!”

Since his last release on We Belong a year ago, Bontan has dropped a steady stream of heavy duty tracks on labels such as Defected, Club Bad, Origins Rcrds, and Circus Recordings, whilst collaborating with Booka Shade, Melé, Josh Butler, Yousef, Pablo:Rita and Clementine Douglas and remixing Harvard Bass.

One of the most respected names in British dance music, ‘Big Khalifa’ is the work of an artist ready to take things to the next level.
