Elly Fly is a new label from Sharam Jey and the first release on it comes from an unknown alias but one that belongs, we’re told, to someone with 20 years in the game behind them.

First up is Holy, a deep and tribal tune with mysterious lead synths that really cast a spell. There is melodic beauty in the beats too, that make it all the more majestic. Air then sinks down into a heavier house groove, with downbeat moods and sombre synths bringing the sadness. Last of all, Spiritual then lifts the spirits with balmy pads and intoxicating instrumentals that really cast a spell. Ethnic versions of Air and Spiritual then place more emphasis on the afro styled drums and round out the EP in style. On this evidence, this is going to be a vital new label.
